THE CAMP EXPERIENCE


The Intro into Wave Masterclass is designed for windsurfers who want to transition from lake sailing to the sea or improve their wave riding and jumping in a safe environment. We utilize a 4 days of coaching out of a 5-day window concept, allowing us to choose the best days of the forecast to maximize your improvement on the water.

This masterclass is ideal for those looking to experience wave sailing for the first time or to improve their existing skills in the accessible conditions of El Medano Bay and the harbour wall, which offers safe, side-shore wave riding.

What will the camp cover 



Under the guidance of Dieter and his local knowledge of the different spots in El Médano, we will cover:


  • Passing waves and identifying potential hazards.
  • Improving jumping control and first attempts at forwards or backloops.
  • First steps into wave riding and improving your current riding skills.
  • Improving upwind sailing by using the swells.
  • The fast tack and a comprehensive safety briefingabout wave sailing.



ENTRY LEVEL REQUIREMENTS


No previous experience on the sea is required for this camp. To join, you should meet the following minimum requirements:


  • Comfortable in footstraps and harness.
  • Consistent waterstarts.
  • Able to sail upwind and downwind without problems.
  • Jibing(does not need to be consistent).

PRICING & INCLUSIONS


COACHING PRICE: 495 Euro Group size is limited

to 8 persons max.


What is included:


  • 4 days of high-end coaching.
  • 1 group dinner with one drink included.
  • Specially designed coaching camp T-shirt.
  • All video footage from during the week + a dedicated Dropbox folder with example clips.


HOW THE WEEK LOOKS



  • DAY 1: We meet at the TWS Center around 10:00 a.m. for a spot introduction, forecast review, and goal setting. This is followed by a short theory lesson and a group sailing session so I can assess everyone's level.
  • DAYS 2 – 5: We aim for two sessions a day (roughly 1.5 to 2 hours each). I will be filming from the beach during at least one session to provide quick debriefings.
  • ANALYSIS: We perform daily video analysis to run through key clips and set goals for the following day.
  • NO WIND POLICY: We focus more on theory and land simulation using the simulator; there is always plenty to learn even on the non-planing days.
